Lotus Press was founded in 1981 by Santosh and Karuna Krinsky. Since that time, Lotus Press has grown its list of publications to more than 300 titles, and is currently publishing about 20-25 new titles per year.

Lotus Press has specialised to become one of the leading publishers in its fields of alternative health and wellness. Of particular interest is Lotus Press list of titles in the field of Ayurveda, which are considered to be the standard works in the field. In addition to Ayurveda, Lotus Press has actively sought out titles on traditional healing modalities as well as energetic healing.
